The complex clinical syndrome called heart failure (HF) is characterized by increasingly high prevalence, high mortality, poor quality of life, and need for increasingly complex therapeutic regimens. The good news discussed here is that many advances have been made in the last 15 years that have led to the ability to improve both morbidity and survival in patients with HF.
