Atrial fibrillation (AF) is gaining attention from the medical community as its frequency increases and its link with adverse events is clear. As proof of this interest, the first publication of Thrombosis Quorum (TQ) has addressed the issue of anticoagulation in AF. A full review of the evidence for clinical practice supports the presentation of new perspectives on epidemics, long-term anticoagulation, new treatments to prevent AF, and the economic implications of the disease.
