Preface

Nowadays, aortic stenosis is the most common type of valvular disease. Most of the times, a process that resembles atherosclerosis in many ways underlies aortic stenosis. The accurate assessment of the severity of aortic stenosis is often challenging. A concentric hypertrophy is the result of long-standing aortic stenosis. Strategies to reduce this hypertrophy would be of great value. In this issue, a panel of experts reviews most hot topics related to aortic stenosis from a contemporary perspective.

Francisco Fernández-Avilés
